This Week in The Universe #14

Apologies for the lack of updates recently. Personal life has got in the way of wrestling and writing but I am back for this week!

RAW kicked off with GM Kurt Angle hyping up the Tables Ladders & Chairs PPV. None of that matters though because The Shield is back! The Music, The Gear and The Entrance! Good golly! Reigns, Rollins & Ambrose looked on fire and the crowd was super hot throughout. The Miz, Sheamus & Cesaro and Braun Strowman come out to interrupt and Angles warns them all off before a fight breaks out. Elias, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson had a funny segment before being interrupted by Jason Jordan, Apollo Crews & Titus O'Neil. The 6 got into a tag match which was decent and Apollo got the win on Anderson with his spinning powerbomb finisher which still doesn't have a name. Crews Control obviously! Cedric Alexander & Jack Gallagher had a quick match designed to set up a tag match for TLC between Cedric/Rich Swann & Gallagher/Brian Kendrick. Awesome Miz TV segment with the heel team going up against The Shield at TLC. Miz mentioned that Ambrose keep saying The Shield can take on multiple guys so Miz suggests a 5th man for his team. Angle isn't on board at first but sets the stipulation for the Strowman/Reigns main event that if Braun wins they can have a 5th man but if Reigns wins Braun is out and its 3Vs3. BIG JUICY STAKES!! Sasha Banks beat Alicia Fox in a quick match where backstage after Fox attacks Banks and even shoves a ref down which will get her a fine! Enzo Amore is talking trash to Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto until the champ is attacked by Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak & Noam Dar. Looks like Enzo has payed off some goons! Ambrose/Rollins defended the Raw Tag Team titles against Sheamus & Cesaro in a great match like these guys always do. The chemistry between these teams is excellent and I look forward to seeing what parts they bring to the main event at TLC. Finn Balor had a message for Bray Wyatt which involved his Demon persona looking like a pumpkin because of course its Halloween soon! Cheesy stuff and I can't wait to see how bad or bad its good it will be at TLC. Good tag team match between Women's Champion Alexa Bliss/Emma & Mickie James/Bayley with Mickie looking particularly strong in this match. She got the win on Bliss in the end which in WWE logic means she's not winning the title at TLC! MAIN EVENT TIME! Braun Strowman took on Roman Reigns in a hell of a Steel Cage Match. These two don't seem capable of having a bad match! The suplex spot off the top of the cage was particular tasty! Just as it looked like Roman was going for the finish, the arena turned red, some familiar music played and rising from under the ring was KAAANNNNEEEEE!! Roman got decimated by Braun & Kane allowing Braun to get the win. Its now 3-on-5 at TLC and The Miz makes it official that Kane will be the 5th man. Its gonna be carnage!

Smackdown Live GM Daniel Bryan opened the show in his hometown to of course a massive reaction. Bryan called out the newly heel Sami Zayn who delivered another great promo further explaining his recent turn. Kevin Owens joined in and both he and Zayn threw insults at Bryan calling him a housewife and a hypocrite. The segment ended with Bryan leaving to go find some dudes to punch them in the face. Standard 6 woman tag match up next with Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Naomi taking on Women's Champion Natalya, Tamina & Lana. Always happy to see Becky Lynch on TV! Lana has not improved and looked really bad in this match. Charlotte got the win making Lana tap out and then got into a post-match brawl with Natalya continuing their feud. Fashion Files is up next and this week they were parodying Pulp Fiction. The Ascension pretty much stole the scene and it feels like these four will be teaming up to solve cases! Weird match with new US Champion Baron Corbin losing to Sin Cara by count-out. Baron did say the US title open challenge is now closed with makes sense as a heel. Tag Champs The Usos were backstage with Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin and the four had an amusing exchange with the challengers 'psyching' out the champs. Another promo for The Bludgeon Brothers which still looks pretty cool to me even if its not everyones cup of tea! WWE Champion Jinder Mahal came out with The Singh Brothers looking good fresh from his trip to India. Mahal announced that he was challenging Universal Champion Brock Lesnar to a match at Survivor Series! INTERESTING!! AJ Styles came out and told Mahal he thinks he has beaten everyone on Smackdown but he hasn't beaten Styles. The segment ended with a brawl with Styles getting the upper hand and Mahal setting up a match with Daniel Bryan for Sunil Singh against AJ. Rematch from Hell in a Cell next with Dolph Ziggler beating Bobby Roode with the sneaky roll-up holding on to the tights. It was a pretty fast paced rushed match and hopefully they have more time for a better match down the line. Backstage Aiden English is singing beautifully before being interrupted by The New Day and Rusev for a very amusing segment. I'm down for a program between New Day & Rusev/English. MAIN EVENT TIME! Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens took on the two guys Daniel Bryan found which was Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura! Really enjoyable tag match with Zayn fully heel winning the match with a low blow on Orton followed up by the Helluva kick. I'd be very happy with any of these four getting into a feud now because it would feel fresh. After the match Owens/Zayn bumped into Bryan backstage and Bryan announced that Shane McMahon was returning next week. HUG ME, HOLD ME TIGHT!!

205Live began with Enzo Amore talking trash to the Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto until the champ interrupted and got the upper hand on Enzo. A match between Rich Swann and Jack Gallagher ended in a physical brawl between them, Cedric Alexander & Brian Kendrick building up more to thier tag match happening at TLC. Drew Gulak delivered an un-interrupted powerpoint presentation and gloated about his attack on Akira Tozawa last week. He announced he will present a championship edition of his powerpoint presentations. MAIN EVENT TIME! Champion Kalisto & Mustafa Ali took on Enzo Amore & Ariya Daivari. Most of the match Enzo spent trash-talking with Daivari doing the heavy lifting. Ali looked great in this match as he always does. Kalisto got the win on Enzo before a brawl broke out between the four men after the match with the faces standing tall.

NXT opened with a triple threat qualifying match for the vacant title match at Takeover: Houston. Hell of a match between Sonya Deville, Ember Moon & Ruby Riot with all three women delivering great spots. The finish was a great spot with Sonya having Riot in the ankle lock and Moon delivering an Eclipse on Sonya she didn't see coming. This led to Moon getting the win and she joins Peyton Royce and Kari Sane in Houston. Next up William Regal was backstage to announce how the 4th participant for the Women's title will be determined. They were interrupted by The Iconic Duo waiting to hear that Billy Kay would be involved. Regal confirmed she would be, but she would be part of a battle royal. Kay was furious and Peyton asked Regal 'How could you?!' which was hilarious. Raul Mendoza & Aleister Black had a pretty quick match with Black getting the win but most of the story involved The Velveteen Dream once again looking for Black to acknowledge him. This has been a really good feud so far that I didn't expect to be this good. NXT Champion Drew McIntyre gave a passionate promo talking about how he had gotten so low when he was let go by the company originally but was now a better man. He is int erupted by Zelina Vega who is accusing Drew of ducking Andrade 'Cien' Almas. Drew says if Almas really wants a title shot he comes to him and asks him. A showcase match here for Kassius Ohno as he beats Cezar Bononi in physical match. Not really sure what they are doing with Ohno at the moment he seems lost in the shuffle. MAIN EVENT TIME! Sanity with Nikki Cross in their corner takes on The Undisputed Era...BAY BAY! Pretty decent match with Sanity looking for revenge for the recent attacks on them until finish is interrupted by the return of The Authors of Pain who we haven't seen since they lost the Tag Titles to Sanity. AOP dominate Sanity and with The Unidsputed Era looking on from the ramp in shock!
