This Week in The Universe #10

After an eventful weeked in Brooklyn, WWE had its post SummerSlam shows in the same arena as well as an episode of NXT filmed before Takeover. What was good and what was bad from the fallout to the biggest party of the summer?? Raw begins with The Universal Champion Brock Lesnar with a big smile on his face along with his advocate Paul Heyman. Heyman bigged up the fact that Lesnar was carted out of a match for the first time in his career before defying doctors orders to come back and win. Heyman said there was no one in WWE or UFC that could beat Lesnar. Before they leave Braun Strowman comes down and continues the assault he started the night before taking down Lesnar with two running powerslams. Lesnar Vs Strowman is THE big match they have right now for the Universal title and I am glad they are going ahead with it! A Brooklyn Street Fight was scheduled between Enzo Amore and Big Cass however the match didn't go long. Big Cass took a rough fall to the outside and when he

Announcers: Michael Cole, Tom Phillips, Vic Joseph, Corey Graves, JBL, Booker T & Byron Saxton Location: Brooklyn, NY Venue: Barclays Centre I don't usually talk about the Kick Off shows but quite a bit happened on this one so I'll do a quick recap. The Miz & The Miztourage beat The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan is a match that was an almost carbon copy of their match from Raw except the Heels won this time. Neville regained the Cruiserweight title from Akira Tozawa he lost just 6 nights ago. It was a good match but why the short title reign? Elias did a little concert in the ring where he managed to get in two songs without any interference. Figured after Monday R-Truth would show up but I guess not! Then we had an INCREDIBLE tag team title match between The New Day & The Usos with a surprise win for The Usos entering their 4th reign as tag champions in WWE. Another instant classic from these two teams much like we got at the last two Smackdown PP

WWE NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III Review

Announcers: Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuiness & Percy Watson Location: Brooklyn, NY Venue: Barclays Centre The opening contest for Takeover was Johnny Gargano taking on Andrade 'Cien' Almas who had Zelina Vega in his corner. Gargano tweeted before the show that his new shirt had already sold out in the arena. That is good news because Gargano was SUPER over throughout this match. They looked very intent on stealing the show and really set the bar for the rest of the night. The speed of this match rarely slowed down throughout starting with with great chain and mat wrestling before Almas starts to work on Gargano's arm catching it in a triangle hold over the top rope. They trade blows back and forth with Almas slapping Gargano which just fires him up and Almas eats a seated roundhouse kick for his troubles. Gargano hits his awesome looking spear through the ropes which is always nice to see. Almas poses in the ropes for the second time but this ti

GO HOME! GO HOME! It's Go Home week on all of WWE shows this week as we take the final stops before NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III and WWE SummerSlam! What was good? What was bad?? Here are my thoughts! Former Shield Brothers Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose continued their will they wont they get back together story as everyone is desperate for them to bump fists. After an argument though they exchange fists tumbling out of the ring like they were drunk fighting! The Tag champs Sheamus & Cesaro came out to try and take advantage but Rollins & Ambrose teamed up to fight them off. Finally Seth & Dean bumped fists and the crowd went WILD!! GM Kurt Angle came out and booked the two teams for the straps at SummerSlam. Should be a good match and I think Seth & Dean will win. Sasha Banks Vs Nia Jax was up next with the winner facing Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women's Title at SummerSlam. Bliss was sat on a 'throne' which was basically a lifeguard seat painte

As July came to an end and we entered August, The roads to SummerSlam and NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III continued with a huge week in WWE. Big momentum building matches, no.1 contender matches and a huge title match! Lets get stuck in!!   Raw starts as Raw often starts with a promo this time from GM Kurt Angle who was in his hometown. How nice! Before he could leave he was interrupted by Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman. Heyman theorises that Angle is trying to get the title off Lesnar by putting him in a Fatal 4 way match. Heyman finishes by saying if Brock loses he and Heyman will leave WWE. I don't see Lesnar winning at SummerSlam personally so either this will free him up to do the UFC stuff he wants to do or it writes him off TV for a few months til he comes back at Survivor Series or Royal Rumble. How often in story lines do people say they will leave and then they come back?? The Hardy Boyz take on Gallows & Anderson in a dec
